Villa Paola
9.6/10 on 136 reviews
The Villa is a small five-star hotel complex, the result of the restructuring of an ancient convent.
The structure dates back to 1543. According to legend, St. Francesco of Paola, who was on his way to Sicily, would be passed nearby Tropea and would have predicted that in that place would be built in a convent with their church for his monks.
The transformation into a hotel has gone through a cleanup of the accretions of the building suffered during the last two centuries. The purpose of the recovery was to give back strength to the old patio around which are articulated spaces of the hotel.
The villa is surrounded by a large garden and sun terrace. The pool offers panoramic views of the Tyrrhenian Sea.

His Opinion: The most beautiful hotel in which we stayed on our latest trip to Italy!! Lovely large room with superb bathroom, elegant linens and top notch toiletries. Magnificent views, beautiful gardens and swimming pool. Breakfast served on the terrace with fresh juices, pastries etc. Marie-Christine, the owner, could not have been more welcoming or helpful suggesting several local restaurants and making the reservation. The hotel, housed in a restored convent, is lovingly restored and is very intimate. We loved wandering around the beautiful gardens and admiring the views over the old town.
As frequent travelers who have stayed in many top-rated hotels, we would recommend this one without reservation.
