The Giudecca is in Ortigia, an authentic jewel of Baroque architecture in the centre of Syracuse, home of archaeological sites and beautiful rare Greek temples. It is a unique residence of its type whose origins date back to the 15th century. In olden times, the Giudecca was the district where Hebrews lived and carried out their commercial activities.
The private courtyard with double stone arch gives access to the hotel, inside of which is the Miqwé, the place where the Jewish purification ritual took place and perhaps the oldest in Europe.
