The Capovaticano resort stands out in its enchanting position: it is situated in the territory of Ricadi on the splendid western coast of Calabria, just 12km from Tropea, a romantic pearl of southern Italy on the tip of the sea, and just 200m from the magnificent rocky promontory of Capo Vaticano, which separates the gulf of Sant’Eufemia from that of Gioia Tauro.
It covers a surface area of 60,000 square metres in amongst pathways and gardens of typical Mediterranean vegetation, in perfect harmony with the surrounding countryside and opposite the splendid scenario of the Aeolian Islands, which are well visible from the resort.
Inaugurated in 2008, the hotel is characterised by its modern design. It consists of a central building with most of the 121 bedrooms and the Junior Suites, the lobby, two salons, the bar and the main restaurant. In a smaller building, called “La Rotonda”, are the rest of the refined bedrooms. The restaurant has high-quality cuisine, expressed through fresh products which maintain their natural flavours, authentic taste and delicate fragrance.
The sophisticated resort is the ideal place for a relaxing holiday, for sport and nature a stone’s throw away from Tropea: The beautiful swimming pool situated right on the edge of the beach; a large and well-equipped gymnasium; the sporting area consisting of two tennis courts, both in synthetic material with illumination and, above all, every kind of amusement that the Calabria coast offers, a continuous alternation of cliffs, sandy beaches, dream grottoes and little bays, some reachable only by boat.
This is the ideal place for those who love to be in touch with uncontaminated nature and with a unique turquoise colour crystal-clear water.

His Opinion: Sehr schönes Hotel in ruhiger, schöner Lage. Restaurant-Personal innen/außen noch verbesserungswürdig. Leider wird kein Deutsch gesprochen, und es gibt auch keine deutschen Fassung der Hotel/Zimmer-Beschreibung auf den Zimmern.

His Opinion: Die Lage und Konstruktion des Hotels und der Anlage ist einzigartig und absolut ruhig gelegen. Die Superiorzimmer sind gross, schön und zeitgemäss eingerichtet mit grossem Balkon. Das gesamte Personal ist immer sehr aufmerksam und sehr freundlich. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
Während unseres Aufenthaltes wurde einige Male die Hauptspeise vom Personal am Tisch serviert, statt wie üblich selbst vom Gast am Buffet geholt. Leider hat das nicht so gut geklappt und es sind Wartezeiten entstanden. Die Idee war ein Versuch wert, aber wir würden uns lieber selbst am Buffte bedienen.

His Opinion: Das beste Hotel der Gegend. Weitläufige sehr gepflegte Anlage mit tollem Strand. Bemühtes Personal und sehr gute Küche. Etwas abgelegen und ein Mietauto ist empfehlenswert. Wer Ruhe mit Anspruch sucht ist gut aufgehoben. Die Getränkepreise an den Bars sind etwas überteuert (Glas wein € 8.-) die Preise für die Flasche Wein aber in Ordnung und der Qualität entsprechend. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

His Opinion: Struttura e posizione eccellenti.
Personale molto cortese ma, nell'ambito dei servizi di ristorazione sia diurna che serale, poco organizzato. Cucina discreta, numericamente insufficiente il personale addetto al rifornimento del buffet serale con conseguente carenza di scelta dei cibi per gli ospiti o attese piuttosto lunghe.
Molto buoni i servizi di pulizia in camera, i servizi spiaggia e di reception. Da sostituire i teli spiaggia che, per dimensioni e qualità, risultano inadeguati allo standard dell'albergo.
La bellezza del luogo, nonché la disponibilità e cortesia del personale, hanno comunque supplito alle carenze, facendoci trascorrere un bellissimo periodo.

His Opinion: Hotelzimmer und Lage sehr schön, sauber und gepflegt. Rezeption freundlich. Service im Restaurant (Frühstück und Abend) mangelhaft, auf Getränke müsste man lange warten, Buffet wurde selten oder garnicht nachgefüllt, Tische wurden nur nach Aufforderung gesäubert. Bedienungen nicht auf Zack! Toilettenanlage am Strand unsauber, müsste auch über den Tag gereinigt werden. Abendprogramm gleich null, jeden Abend der gleiche Orgler! Dieses Hotel ist schön, jedoch in vieler Hinsicht ausbaufähig!

His Opinion: Pour la chambre cela aurait été excelkent di la sdb ne sentait pas les remontées d'eaux usages
Le plaisir a été gâche tous le sejour par des fumeurs non stop sur la plage au restaurant le midi et le soir
Il faudrait suggérer au moins le soir une zone non fumeur c'est insupportable
L'hospitalité du restaurant du spa du chef de reception est excellent les hôtesses moins professionnelles

His Opinion: L'emplacement de l'hotel est excellent mer, piscine.
L'hotel en lui même est très agréable, calme, pas bruyant,
bien agencé, fonctionnel et propre.
L'accès extérieur d'arrivé à l'hotel est quelque peu
délicat en voiture ; route défoncée, grilles des rigoles
dangeureuses.
Le personnel et le staff sont sérieux, manquent toutefois
un peu de convivialité, un peu froid au départ mais cela s'arrange au fil des jours.
Bref un très bon séjour en famille dans un cadre magnifique.

His Opinion: it was a beautiful hotel and mostly everyone was very friendly and tried to help us when we had queries, especially the head waiter in the restaurant, who explained fully everything to us and made our mealtimes very easy.
