Situated in front of the sea, just 500 metres from the historical centre of Mazara del Vallo and embarkation for the magnificent Egadi Islands, Pantelleria and Tunisia, the very recent “Hotel Mahara” has been created out of an ancient 18th century wine-making building belonging the English Hopps family.
The refined and cultured surroundings, the relaxing atmosphere in the Wine Bar – for aperitifs and light lunches – and in the Ghibli Restaurant, where excellent traditional Sicilian cuisine (based on the freshness of the renowned Mazara fish) can be savoured in the cool of the cloister, all make this the perfect destination for your vacation. You can also taste couscous and other dishes from this special cuisine which offers dishes with an Arab influence together with Italian ones.
Style and elegance also reign in the Auditorium, in the meeting salons and in the 77 bedrooms, the majority with sea view and terrace, and all with the most modern comforts, such as broadband internet connection.

His Opinion: Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen, aber einen Kritikpunkt möchten wir festhalten:
Das Angebot beim Frühstück war grundsätzlich mangelhaft. Es gab wenig Auswahl, jeden Tag dasselbe und manchmal war z.B. das Rührei schlichtweg schlecht zubereitet. Es wäre in einem 4-Sterne-Hotel angebracht, etwas Abwechslung beim Frühstück zu haben und wesentlich mehr Gemüse und Obst anzubieten. Nur Tomaten und Melonen sind etwas dürftig.
Ansonsten ist das Hotel sehr empfehlenswert und besonders hervorheben möchte ich die wirklich tolle Freundlichkeit Ihres Personals. Egal, ob bei der Rezeption oder im Restaurant oder in anderen Bereichen - alle Mitarbeiter waren superfreundlich und sehr zuvorkommend.
