In the historic centre of Ávila, stands the Parador on the old "Piedras Albas" Palace of the XVI century with its majestic imposing ramparts (2.5 km long, 12 m high and 3 m thick) among the best preserved in Europe with 86 towers and 9 gates.
In keeping with the historic environment inside the facility maintains a warm, welcoming style, magnificently restored in all its parts. Decorative elements, such as brick and granite floor, bold colours and spacious rooms, some with four-poster beds, form a harmonious and bright hotel. Brightness and comfort come together to make your stay in this charm hotel a delightful memory.
The elegant room “Conde de Benavides” is the building's pride and joy. His Royal Highness the Prince of Asturias stayed in this hotel during his visit to Ávila. The hotel has all modern comforts such as hot-tub, large picture windows that offer magnificent views of the garden.
Another area worth mentioning is the wonderful atrium along with the archaeological findings of the garden, the halls and the meeting rooms that may accommodate up to 250 people and the coffee shop.
In the dining room, with a splendid view of the garden and walls, you can enjoy dishes such as: suckling pig, veal cutlet, El Barco Beans and excellent yemas of St. Teresa.
And, of course, the former Kingdom of Castile, is rich in cultural treasures. Art lovers can choose between monasteries, the Cathedral, the old palaces and museums of Ávila and many other gems like medieval Segovia, La Granja de San Ildefonso, Madrigal de lasAltas Torres, El Escorial ... not to mention the city of Madrid 100 miles away.
