“Relais Castel Bigozzi”, an aristocratic residence dating from 1200 immersed in the rolling Siena hills in the magnificent countryside of Strove, on the doorstep of the turreted picturesque town of Monteriggioni, a small village whose origins date back to the Etruscan period.
The ancient residence also boasts a long history: once the castle was one of the most important fortresses in Chianti and a place of refuge and protection for the Ghibelline troops. Its coat of arms tells the story well with its red shield, like the land that surrounds it, a black lion, symbol of courage and battles, glory and knights.
Today, the welcoming residence has comfortable suites, in the main building and custodian house annex which have been converted, maintaining the original elements and refined architectonic details.

His Opinion: Cet endroit est parfait : le lieu, le cadre, la bâtisse, le magnifique jardin et la piscine, le personnel aussi est très sympathique. Nos enfants ont été émerveillés.
Un seul petit bémol, Il y a juste la salle de bain qui mériterait un petit rafraîchissement.

Personale cortese e sempre disponibile, sarà come essere a casa! Relax allo stato puro con una nota di romanticismo fiabesco evocata da un tipico castello principesco e paesaggi collinari mozzafiato!!

His Opinion: Unser Zimmer war grausam. Befallen von Spinnen und anderen Ungeziefer. Fenster waren vorhanden, jedoch kein Tageslicht, da die Fenster von außen mit Sträucher und sonstigem Grünzeug zugewachsen waren. Gut, dass Vorhänge vor den Fenstern waren, da der Blick hinter die Vorhänge nach draußen an ein Terrarium erinnerte. Selbst im Bett haben wir Käfer und sonstige Insekten gefunden. Ein Alptraum! Die Dusche wurde noch nie gereinigt. Duschdüsen, Fugen sowie die Duschkabine waren von gelb/braunem Schmodder befallen. Die 4-Sterne sieht das Hotel noch nicht einmal mit dem Fernglas! Ansonsten war das Personal höflich und die Lage traumhaft. Sehr zentral gelegen und alles mit kurzen Fahrtwegen erreichbar. Das Frühstücksbuffet hat nicht sonderlich viel Auswahl geboten. Wir werden auf keinen Fall erneut dort Urlaub machen. Da gibt es wahrscheinlich andere deutlich bessere Unterkünfte, für mehr oder weniger den gleichen Preis.

His Opinion: Le cadre est magnifique au milieu des vignobles et des oliviers. L'accueil est absolument parfait. Les chambres et l'ensemble des locaux sont propres , fonctionnels , bien décorés. Juste un tout petit bémol sur le petit déjeuner qui pourrait être amélioré ( fruits frais) pour cette gamme d'établissement. Situé à 15 mn en voiture de Sienne , ce havre de paix est extrêmement agréable pour savourer la douceur du printemps en Toscane. A recommander sans hésitation!

His Opinion: I have been staying at Castel Bigozzi for appproximately 10 years (each July) and have always loved it. The location is fabulous and the staff friendly and helpful. However, on this occasion, the atmosphere was marred by the presence of numerous children, who were loud and boisterous at times. I have never seen young children like this at Castel Bigozzi in the past. It is obviously the owner's business decision as to whether to turn this establishment into a "family" destination. if that happens again next year, however, I may look for accommodations elsewhere. His Opinion: While the location of this hotel is undeniably gorgeous, the property is in awful condition and is in an URGENT need to be redone. Furniture is old and the bathrooms are pitiful for something that is supposed to be 4 stars. The curtains looked like they have not been cleaned in years. The service is ok, but the staff is unfamiliar with the region outside a radius of 5km. The breakfast and the cleaning are all poor.
After having traveled the region, we discovered numerous vineyards/small hotels with rooms that have far more charm and style (and cheaper), so booking here would be a big mistake. It is a shame that such a beautiful Castel is going to such waste under current management.

His Opinion: Beautiful site, friendly staff, great pool area, free parking, free internet and good breakfast in lovely breakfast room---these are all things which make the hotel a pleasant place to stay. But this hotel needs a few changes to be a first class 4-star. We had a suite and it was fine except that the plastic shower is very flimsy, and there's not even a place to put the soap. The shower is what you might see in a one or two star hotel---unacceptable. The bar is a joke--ice machine didn't work, only one beer left and poor selection of other items. Staff are not adept at fixing drinks. Also, you should consider having at least one English language TV channel. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and feel that the hotel's deficiencies could easily be fixed.

very nice and quiet place.
people are very friendly
The breakfast was very well
Rooms are very big (small apartments)
Good place to visit Sienne, Florence,....
the negative points :
1/our son ( 13 years but He has the same size and same weight as an adult) slept on a sofa bed but it was very uncomfortable. It had the springs of the bed in the back. Fortunately for him that it was only for 2 nights.
2/We hear the noise of the nearby rooms a lot
But we project to return to this hotel a next time ....
