Villa Claudia dei Marchesi Dal Pozzo is one of the most beautiful residences on the splendid and renowned Piemonte banks of Lago Maggiore, preserving intact more than ever before its atmosphere of the Victorian period. Full of charm, boasting top quality furniture and paintings dating back from the 15th to the 19th century.
Surrounded by green vegetation, the historical residence was a wedding gift to Princess Luisa Dal Pozzo from her husband, the Duke of Sartirana in 1827, and still belongs to the Marchesi Dal Pozzo d’Annone. Today, a part of it has been opened to a restricted number of guests who can enjoy the exclusive atmosphere, strepitosa views of the lake, Santa Caterina convent and beautiful sunsets.
The 6 fascinating suites of the Villa are elegantly decorated with original period furniture and have every modern comfort. And in the “Borgo Ottocentesco”- the guest quarters in the park – there are another 12 luxurious suites, created by restoring the historical, evocative houses of sailors and gardeners with antique touches of the past. These have hydro-massage tubs, internet and garages, and – like those in the Villa – overlook the lake.
Guests can enjoy the pleasant relaxation of the swimming pool and the life and nature routes in the luxuriant 5-hectare park, use the fitness area which includes gym, sauna and Turkish bath, also the American Bar, and taste fine Italian cuisine in the Stendhal Bistro which is in the old converted wine cellars.
Recalling the distinguished Stendhal, Belgirate – a small town of fishermen - was in fact once the preferred destination of distinguished scholars and well-known people from the Risorgimento who appreciated the relaxing tranquility and healthy air. Then it was also fascinating with a string of villas, palazzos and well-looked after parks – nearby Stresa, a social life health resort, full of cultural attractions and the Borromee Islands.
There is a choice of 8 prestigious golf clubs in the area for golf enthusiasts. And for sailors, a long-standing tradition – the first sailing regattas on the lake were actually at Belgirate.
Furthermore, the residence is a scenic location for congresses and meetings, weddings and events in general, with salons capable of hosting up to 60 people seated for meetings and up to 230 people for gala dinner evenings.

His Opinion: I would really recommend Villa Dal Pozzo d'Annone. Lovely location, although one does need a car to properly benefit from the local attractions.
